Project Comeback

My ultimate lifestyle transformation project with the goal of feeling AMAZING.

Starting in 2015 I lost 20 kg (44 lbs) in one year. I managed to transform myself from an overweight, constantly tired, back pain-plagued sugar junkie into a health food whizz and running queen.


I started from scratch with no nutrition or fitness experience. I lived by a set of nutrition 'rules' which, while strict, helped me achieve some lofty goals. I was spurred on by breaking my big goals into little ones so I was always #winning. I managed to transform my lifestyle and my body and as a result I felt AMAZING.

Cue Project Comeback 

That's where Project Comeback comes in! I'm ready to transform my lifestyle, my body and my mind all over again. I'm still a newbie when it comes to nutrition and fitness, but I'm learning all the time about what 'works' for me and my body and I'm sharing my journey here on my blog.

My Goals

I know from my first experience with transformation that focusing in on one small goal and really tackling it makes it easier to turn whatever the desired behavior is into habit. Once it’s a habit it’s easy because it’s automatic - no effort required.

My mantra for 2018 is 'Health. Balance. Well-Being'. I've put together a list of big goals, little goals and habits I want to form below (in no particular order!)

My big list of goals for 2018:

  • Establish and maintain this blog!
  • Eat a healthy whole foods diet
  • Reduce my sugar, dairy and caffeine intake
  • Meal prep
  • Get lean, strong, fast and flexible
  • Look amazing naked
  • Stick to the 80:20 diet rule
  • Start practicing yoga
  • Incorporate self-care into my weekly routine
  • Focus on increasing energy levels and nourishing my body
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle
  • Use glass containers as much as possible
  • Reduce my plastic bag usage
  • Get better sleep
  • Stop mindlessly consuming content on my phone
  • Be mindful about nutrition and eating 
  • Show myself grace when I 'slip up' 
  • Have the self-awareness to know when my body needs me to skip a workout 
  • Allow myself to eat treat foods now and then without guilt 
  • Consciously make time to be ‘in the moment’ with my son - no smartphone, no distractions
